A Mathematical Viewpoint at Life

Take a look at this 101%! What equals 100%? What does it mean to give MORE than 100%? Ever wonder about those people who say they are giving more than 100%? We have all been in situations where someone wants you to give over 100%. How about ACHIEVING 101% What equals 100% in life? Here's a little mathematical formula that might help answer these questions:

If:
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ is represented as 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26.

If:
H-A-R-D-WO-R-K
8+1+18+4+23+15+18+11=98%

And
K-N-OW-L-E-D-G-E
11+14+15+23+12+5+4+7+5=96%

But
A-T-T-I-T-U-D-E
1+20+20+9+20+21+4+5=100%

Then, look how far the love of God will take you:
L-O-V-E-O-F-G-O-D
12+15+22+5+15+6+7+15+4=101%
Therefore, one can conclude with mathematical certainty that:

While hard Work and Knowledge will get you close, and Attitude will get you there, it's the Love of God that will put you over the top!

Congratulations Graduates!

Allison Easlon is the daughter of Don & Nancy Easlon. She is graduating from Permian High School on May 30, 2008. Her hope is to attend Freed- Hardeman University as an Art major. She also hopes to find a good Christian man. Her hobbies include art, swimming, and reading. Allison has been attending the Eisenhower Church of Christ for 17 years. We will miss her and look forward to her visits back home with us. We send her off with our prayers and love!

Alyssa Leigh Lane is the daughter of Ronnie &Kellie Lane. She is graduating from Permian High School on May 30, 2008. She plans on attending Angelo State University in the fall, majoring and getting her degree in nursing. She then plans on attending Texas Wesleyan for graduate school to receive her CRNA. Alyssa enjoys meeting new people. She loves to shop and loves to do artsy things. She has been attending Eisenhower Church of Christ for 18 years. Alyssa says that she wouldn't be where she is today without her Christian family here at Eisenhower. She says she will miss everybody dearly, but will be back to visit. May God Bless you Alyssa! We love you.

Cameron Mitchell May is the son of Larry & Janis May. He is graduating from Permian High School on May 30, 2008. His plans are to attend Angelo State University and major in Physics or Chemistry. He lettered 4 years in U.I.L. Math competition. He received awards in the ECISD Awards for Excellence and Optimist Club Award for Physics. He is in the Academic Hall of Fame. Cameron received the ASU Carr Scholarship and the ASU Special Academic Scholarship in Physics. His hobbies include computers, science, rocket building, and science-fiction reading. Cameron has been attending the Eisenhower Church of Christ for 18 years. Cameron, you have been an important part of our family here at Eisenhower. We will miss you and love you always!

Bethany Lewallen friend of Jaxon Straw, is back in Cook's Children's Hospital with seizures.
James Drake was released from the hospital on Tuesday, but he is still not doing well.

FYI
The Wednesday morning Bible Class subject will be the book of Revelation. We will have a potluck on the last week of May. The class will not meet during the summer months.
The New Mexico Christian Children's Home will be here on Monday, June 2nd. They have suggested the following items: BBQ Sauce, sweetened cereals, and lotion. If you prefer to a monetary donation, you may leave it with the office clearly marked.

Youth
We are needing hosts for the monthly youth devotionals. Please sign up to host one or more on the sign up sheet on the bulletin board in the east foyer.

Anniversary Announcements
You are cordially invited by the family of Sharon and Lee Roy Bell to attend a 50th Anniversary party. Come join us on Saturday, May 31st, 2008 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the annex of Eisenhower Church of Christ, located at 807 E. 21st Street, Odessa, TX. Please let us know if you will be able to attend. We will be serving cake and punch, so throw on your bobby sox and poodle skirt and help us celebrate Nana and Honey's milestone. Office News
Our food coordinators for the month of May are Estella Morolez and Carolyn Siler.
We are trying to fill our pantry. Every two weeks we will have new suggested items. This week's suggestion are syrup, sugar and cooking oil.
The office will be closed on Monday, May 26th in observance of Memorial Day.
