We will be hosting our VBS on July 21st, 22nd, and 23rd.

It will begin at 10:00 a.m. each morning and end at 12:00 p.m.
For ages 2 years old up to 6th grade. We hope you can join us.


Sympathy We express our sympathy to the family of Veda Adams, sister of Reba Adams and aunt of Lana Howard and Kathy Nunley. Veda passed away on Tuesday morning, July 8th. Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 10th.
We express our sympathy to the family of Sulema Lopez. Sulema was a member at Parkview Church of Christ. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at Parkview Church of Christ on Thursday, July 10th.

Current Concerns
Shannon Morolez, daughter-in-law of Juan and Stella Morolez, is experiencing a bit of swelling due to her pregnancy. She is due on July 14th. Stella Morolez will be going back to Houston on July 10th to be with her son and daughter-in-law and will remain there for her chemo treatment. Her plan is to return home on Friday, July 18th if all goes well.
Mark Brewer from Des Arc Church of Christ is still struggling with his white and red blood cell counts. He is having trouble fighting off colds and infections. He continues to need our prayers. There is an update on him posted on the bulletin board in the east foyer.
Nina Galvan, mother of Isidro Galvan and mother-in-law of Rachel Galvan, is having health issues and passed out a couple of times. She is having tests run.

Events
Watch In Search of the Lord's Way with Mack Lyon every Sunday morning at 7:30 am on CBS, channel 7. This week's topic will be entitled, "That Which is Perfect."
Texas & Clements will be hosting their annual Ladies' Day on August 9, 2008. Their theme is "Whatsoever, Be Content." Please mark your calendars. If at all possible please contact our office if you plan on attending so that we may give them an approximate head count at least a week before the event.
Our Vacation Bible School will be held on July 21st, 22nd, and 23rd from 10:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. We are needing volunteers to guide the children from class to class. If you can help with being a guide, please let Steve Horton or the office staff know. We also need volunteers to bake cookies for us to serve as refreshments for each day. Please bring cookies to the building by July 20th.

The Lakeview Christian Home will be here on the week of July 21st. They have requested canned fruit, or any canned foods.
There will be a baby shower for Stephanie (Nunley) James on Saturday, July 19th. It will be held at Kellie Lane’s house from 12:30 to 2:30. Her selections are at Target, Wal-Mart, and Le Bebe Boutique in Midland.
6th and Jackson Church of Christ will be hosting their VBS on July 13th – 16th from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Classes for Toddlers through Adults.

Youth
We will be handing out flyers for our upcoming Vacation Bible School on Saturday, July 12th to the neighborhood around the church building. If you are able to help, meet at the building at 10:00 a.m. Lunch will be served to those of you who are able to come help with this effort.
We are still needing hosts for the monthly youth devotionals. Please sign up to host one or more on the sign up sheet on the bulletin board in the east foyer.

Bible Quiz Question
We will be putting a new question every week for the bible quiz. The kids will still have a week to answer. This is just to ensure that everyone in Kindergarten through 6th grade will have an opportunity to answer the question. This week’s answer must be submitted by July 16th.
Question: Who said, “Fear not for behold I bring you good tidings of great joy?”

Office News
Our food coordinators for the month of July are Barbie Martinez, Rocio Chacon, and Rachel Galvan.
We are trying to fill our pantry. Every two weeks we will have new suggested items. This week’s suggestions are canned or powdered milk and assorted jelly.
