As The Seasons Change
I'm not sure why I enjoy this time of the year so much. It might be because as a parent I realize school has started and the chaos of summer is over. It might be because I know that as fall approaches all of us will be entering into cooler weather which is always welcomed with open arms. And yet, I also realize that there is a spiritual reason as to why I enjoy this time of the year and that is because I know that all of us at Eisenhower are working diligently as we prepare for our upcoming Fall Meeting.
Yes, as the seasons change we all are given another opportunity to partake of a blessed feast of God's Holy Word. Though we might expect the same format as in the past, let me let you in on a little secret - it won't be. You see, there will be a couple of differences in this year's arrangements. For instance, instead of being blessed to hear one speaker speak on a variety of topics, we will be using a diversity of speakers who will then cover an assortment of topics centered on the home. Another obvious difference from past Gospel Meetings is how we will be conducting this endeavor. If you will remember, such efforts in the past started on Sunday Morning and concluded Wednesday or Thursday evening. However, this year there will be lessons to attend all day Saturday and Sunday. Much in the same manner as a lectureship, we will have a multitude of opportunities to sit at the feet of qualified men who have taken an enormous amount of time in the study of God's Word so as to enrich our lives as listeners. Another exciting difference in this year's meeting is that our speakers will all be from Eisenhower - that's right from Eisenhower.
No, this is not a misprint. No, your glasses are not out of focus. No, your eyes are not playing tricks on you. Yes, you read it right - our speakers are all from Eisenhower and when I contemplate that thought I am overwhelmed with how many men we are blessed with that are capable teachers and preachers of God's Holy Writ. Beloved, as you can see this year's Fall Meeting is going to be something special. So start making plans this very moment to encourage one another and to invite others to enjoy this spiritual feast. How else could we enjoy the changing of the seasons.

Thank you
Thank you for the calls, food, cards, and especially for your prayers for me during the tests and surgery. Recovery
from the surgery is not progressing as rapidly as expected. However, I am looking forward to being back in services
with you in the near future.
DeLora Wood
There are no words to use to thank you all for your kindness you showed to me at the time of my beloved brother's
(Lawrence Collins) illness & his death in March. I'm sorry it took so long to thank you for your prayers and
thoughtfulness. But the hurt is still so fresh in my mind and heart. I could do no better. I thank each and everyone
that sent a card or a call or said a prayer for me & my family. God bless you! For ever with love & God's blessing to
my Brothers and Sisters in Christ. You are the greatest. God bless each of you and your family & let you live a long,
long time to continue to help others in their needs.
Love you, Hattie Mae Gilmore
Thank you Brothers and Sisters for the card. Thank you for the privilege of asking you to pray for my dad. Dad is
suppose to go to HealthSouth on Monday (August 27th) for rehab. We are hoping he can go home by Wednesday
or Thursday (August 29th or 30th). I love you all for being the back bone of Christ's church.

FYI
Just a reminder, if you would like to contribute to the Jim Reyna's medical fund, you may use the special contribution
envelopes on the table in the east foyer and place it in the tape order box or you can give your donations to the office
staff or the elders. We will try to send whatever we have collected on September 17th.
The west and north doors in the classroom area will be locked after bible class on Sunday and Wednesday. Also, the
doors will stay locked during the evening services. This is for our security. Bill and Robbie have asked us to announce
that they are in no hurry for us to leave the building. We are free to visit as long as we want. If you see them lock the doors,
do not worry. You can still let yourselves out. The doors will automatically lock behind you. Thank you.
