Heaven Holds All To Me

When I was a teenager I attended a singing school in Haskell, Texas every summer. This camp specialized in teaching musical harmony, song leading and music writing. Each year we would have a 'guest' teacher.

In 1985 Tillit S. Teddlie wrote such songs as "Singing Redemption Song," "Into Our Hands the Gospel is Given," "O the Depth and the Riches," "Oft We Come Together," "Worthy Art Thou," and "What Will Your Anwer Be?" While he was an old man at the time I knew him, Brother Teddlie was still someone who could energetically convey his love of the Lord to others. I remember many of his stories of how and when he wrote his songs. Every since that week, I especially appreciate the song "Heaven Holds All To Me." He told us that when he was eighteen he finally submitted to baptism, becoming a New Testament Christian. He was so happy that he sat down on the steps of the church building that Sunday afternoon and wrote his very first song. In it he tried to sum up his decision and life's purpose. Please think about the words: Earth holds no treasures but perish with using, however precious they be; Yet there's a country to which I am going: Heaven holds all to me. Out on the hills of that wonderful country, happy, contended and free. Loved ones are waiting and watching my coming: Heaven holds all to me. Why should I long for the world with its sorrows, when in that home o'er the sea. Millions are singing the wonderful story? Heaven holds all to me. Heaven holds all to me, brighter its glory will be; Joy without measure will be my treasure: Heaven holds all to me.

Surely heaven does hold all for us. Let's be sure that each of us lives in a way that pleases God.

Thank You
To all the Eisenhower Church of Christ ladies,
Thank you very much for the box of goodies. It really means a lot to me that ya'll would put together something like that for the college students. Give a bunch of cookies to a Type 1 diabetic and they don't last very long, trust me. Thank you very much,
Kelly Marrs

Thank you Eisenhower Brethren for the grocery items &/or funds so lovingly donated to help care for our children. You are very special to us!
